We spent the better part of a year field-testing the Micro Clock MKIII XB prior to its release, and got a lot of positive feedback on the impact it made in a wide variety of setups. With only 0.6pS RMS of jitter at the BNC outputs, it has less than one third of the jitter of the standard Micro Clock MKIII! It boasts incredibly accurate crystal oscillators and superior quality galvanic isolation, both of which contribute to the extraordinarily low jitter measurement. This doesn’t have the depth of Marvel vs Capcom’s team attacks, where different combinations of characters created completely different attacks, but it adds to the flexibility and spectacle of the fighting. The game also introduces a handful of switching moves, where you can tag mid-attack and bring in your second character to finish the job. Part of the strategy of the game is knowing when to switch and when to hold off for a few precious seconds longer. Unlike Marvel vs Capcom, one KO is enough to put you one round down in a best-of-three or best-of-five, so you can’t use characters as lives. Different combinations can be used to provide balance or guard against a particular threat, as well as giving you a reprieve when you’re about to be KO’ed. What Tekken Tag Tournament brought to the party, and what this sequel revamps, is a tag team system, where you can pick two characters before each match and switch between them at almost any time. Against tougher opponents – particularly human ones – there’s a level of skill involved in simply staying standing long enough to rain your own blows down. ![]() Tekken is kinder to button mashers than, say, Virtual Fighter 5, but only to a point. Using the D-Pad or analogue stick you can target blows to high, middle or low areas, block mid and low attacks, duck or jump.īeyond this, each character has a lengthy list of combos, which can be strung together into arguably the most brutal attack chains of any fighting game. ![]() Two face buttons unleash fist-based attacks, another two unleash kicks, and a combination can be used to grab and throw your opponent. However you play, the action is classic Tekken. With two or more players you can enjoy the standard two-player versus mode plus a two-on-two Pair Play mode and a tournament-style 16-player Team Battle mode. Offline, lone players get their basic Arcade mode, a Ghost mode where you can level up playing against a selection of simulated players, a practice mode and a Fight Lab mode, which we’ll come to later. Online, you get a choice of ranked matches and player matches, filtering options by player level and connection status. The various modes are split into two main offline and online menus. It’s so polished and so packed with features that our biggest bone of contention – the lack of a coherent single-player story mode – pales into insignificance. It’s also an incredibly generous package, with a whopping 50-strong roster of fighters, more stages than we’ve been able to count, an extensive range of different online and offline modes and all the collectibles and customisation features you’d expect from a modern fighting game. While it’s not as magnificent a comeback as Streetfighter IV, it’s an excellent reminder of everything that made Tekken so fantastic in the first place. Well, with Tekken Tag Tournament 2 the good old days are back again. It’s not so much that Tekken went bad, but more that the world has moved on. For those of us with fond memories of post-pub Tekken 3 matches going on into the early hours, or evenings spent with Marshall Law and Nina Williams in Tekken 2, this situation has been all the more depressing. Even the PS2 years weren’t that brilliant, with the decent Tekken 5 making up for a disappointing Tekken 4 and a slightly lacklustre Tekken Tag Tournament. While Capcom’s fighting games have triumphed in this console generation, with Streetfighter IV and Marvel vs Capcom 3 winning favour with fans, Tekken’s only recent outings have been the underwhelming Tekken 6, the Capcom made Streetfighter X Tekken and an okay but dated HD port of Tekken 5. In many of these segments, Anthony’s camera becomes part of the drama, a reminder of the many surveillance layers at work in every scene. Theoretically, that means greater accountability - but it also seems to encourage a greater ease with violent action, under the assumption that the camera will always exonerate them later. Later, in a police training session, officers learn how the continuous uploading of footage helps them put violent confrontations in context. The danger arises by implication: We learn, for example, how the camera on a taser adopts the perspective of the shooter - essentially adopting his point-of-view, and creating a one-sided version of events as they happen. One of the more alarming chapters finds Anthony visiting the headquarters of Axon Enterprise, the Arizona taser development company, as a corporate executive leads the camera through an assembly line and demonstrates the precision of its advanced tech. Nevertheless, it’s easy to imagine a lesser documentary on any one of the subjects that Anthony stuffs into individual chapters, and fascinating to watch him sort through them all in search of greater meaning. ![]() As with “Rat Film,” a dispassionate voiceover creeps into the story to explain some of the more significant historical details, adding a cerebral quality to the journey that occasionally morphs into abstract tangents (“form is only a snapshot view of transition”) that don’t always serve the bigger picture. It’s a lot to take in, and not every pathway leads to a gratifying outcome, but Anthony’s enigmatic style keeps the intrigue factor high throughout. 'White Noise': All the Details on Noah Baumbach's Film Starring Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig 'Luckiest Girl Alive' Review: Mila Kunis Leads Shaky Assault Survivor Story New Movies: Release Calendar for October 7, Plus Where to Watch the Latest Films All of that comes full circle in a climactic confrontation about the nature of privacy in a world governed by corporate power. In the most compelling passages, he journeys back to the late 19th century, unearthing the little-known history of astrophotography and mug shots, finding a remarkable set of connections between camera technology and weapons of war. An experiment with neural response comes and goes, if for no other reason than to deepen a sense of Orwellian themes at work. The ensuing chapter-based saga careens from a warehouse that develops tasers and police body cameras, to training sessions for officers who wear the devices, the machinations of a spy plane entrepreneur, and the history of camera pigeons in WWI. Though the results are less cohesive this time, “All Light Everywhere” provides another compelling riff on the ominous forces governing everyday life that’s both alarming and awe-inspiring at once.Īnthony begins with a striking visual metaphor, reveling in the blind spot of the optic nerve, and setting the stage for an investigation into how little we see about the way the world looks back at us. For that reason alone, the filmmaker’s strange and alluring rumination on the ways technology exerts control over human life is a worthy follow-up to his 2016 debut “Rat Film,” which used Baltimore’s rodent infestation as a savvy metaphor for gentrification. However, Theo Anthony’s ambitious documentary unearths one brilliant connection - a fascinating lineage between the camera and the gun - and roots it in historical fact. “ All Light Everywhere” winds its way through fragmentary observations about modern surveillance society, unearthing a wide range of amorphous connections about its subject. I’d also like to point out that I had easily the least amount of noise leakage with this headset, so it’s perfect for quiet environments. It’s not really aiming for anything special, and it doesn’t achieve anything special. That’s the best way to describe the Kraken Pro. It’s primarily noticeable with gunshots-they’re not as sharp and crisp as you can achieve with other headsets. I did notice a slight muffled quality to the sound, but it wasn’t enough to detract from your experience playing games. You’d better like the sound of the Kraken Pro, as unlike its older sibling the Kraken 7.1 you have no Razer software solution for EQ. Out of all the budget headsets reviewed here today, this is probably one of the strongest when it comes to listening to music (up there with the HyperX Cloud). The Kraken Pro’s sound is decent, warm, with a slight boost to the bass. However, the actual tension of the headband is perfectly tuned, meaning if you’ve got small ears you could use this headset for a while, no problem. While my ears still fit inside, it wasn’t nearly as roomy as I’d like. The Razer Taipan exceeds in both form and function as a product that should have gamers marking their calendars for its release in July with a suggested retail price of $70.The earcups on the Kraken Pro are a bit smaller than your average headset, with a circular shape rather than elliptical. The selection of mice for gaming is extensive with many models that favor form over function, and even fewer that can find a perfect balance of both elements. The software is optional for using the mouse as Windows 7 was able to detect all of the device's features without further driver downloads. With Synapse 2.0, the personalized mouse settings can be downloaded to multiple computers at home or if attending game tournaments. The Taipan supports use of Razer Synapse 2.0 that enables owners to save their personalized mouse settings to the cloud, along with downloading new driver and firmware updates. If the stealth bomber was condensed into a mouse, the Razer Taipan would embody that result. Each aspect of the mouse has been designed with gamers in mind from its knitted cord to matte finish. The balance between its sleek curves and eye-catching design strike an ideal balance that ensures it will fit into place on any gamer's desktop environment. The mouse's appearance maintains a sleek and minimalist design on every surface with the subtle inclusions of the mouse wheel and Razer logo lighted in an alien green. No matter if the sensitivity was set from its slowest to fastest setting, the cursor's movement across the screen was smooth without any occurrences of random jitter.Īlong with the mouse's impressive performance, the Razer Taipan will no doubt catch the eye of jealous onlookers with its smooth and minimalist exterior. With the mouse's built-in sensitivity selection, every gamer should be able to find a setting that suits their individual play style. The ability to instantly adjust sensitivity was especially helpful in games when faster or slower adjustments to mouse movement were required. These buttons function properly without requiring any secondary drivers in Windows 7. Two buttons are located under the scroll wheel that allows for instant adjustment of the mouse's sensitivity. The mouse touts an impressive 8200dpi 4G dual sensor system that precisely tracks each and every movement of the hand no matter the surface used, thanks to included laser and optical sensors. Everything from the mouse's weight to balance of materials simply feel right when utilizing the mouse in a multiplayer gaming sessions or surfing web pages. Two buttons are placed in the thumb section on each side of the mouse for further ambidextrous support. ![]() The mouse wheel also acts as a middle button for use in games and other applications. Moreover, it even worked in the air and even on my lap without issues. It’s neither big nor small and flawlessly suiting to my smaller hands. What seduces me though the light of it’s logo which shines and fades at random intervals which is fairly sweet. In addition, the mouse wheel includes a rubberized grip with individual notches for precise scrolling. I tested the operability and the functionality of Razer Taipan and felt pretty elated. The best features of the mouse's exteriors are the matte finish and rubberized thumb grips that prevent finger slips and offer resistance to finger prints. ![]() Neither too small or too large accurately describe the size of the mouse's exterior that still feels great after hours of gaming. The Razer Taipan lives up to the description of an ambidextrous gaming mouse that allows any user to experience its great form factor. The Razer Taipan defies those odds to deliver to a mouse that's perfectly suited for both hectic gaming sessions and menial tasks of everyday computing. Few gaming mice have been able to fall into the category between the polar opposites that include useful features in a simplistic form. It won't be a surprise to any gamer that the selection of gaming mice available is quite staggering, especially considering the stark contrast between some hardware that boasts twenty or more buttons while others opt for the minimalist design. ![]() How about you go back to the part where ONLY if you know when to stop, it takes 3 god damn minutes you won't ever get back, to waste to get TO the post where there are ONLY a couple images that actually don't suffice to explain all the stuff Foose did to take a 74 Jag and make it better. Submerged macrophytes have a strong ability to absorb P and play important roles in maintaining aquatic ecosystem functions. Excessive P input often leads to cyanobacterial bloom, thus triggering ecological imbalances and a series of environmental problems. Phosphorus (P) is a limiting element in many aquatic ecosystems. 2Ministry of Water Resources Research Center of Poyang Lake Water Resources and Water Environment, Jiangxi Institute of Water Sciences, Nanchang, China.1Jiangxi Provincial Engineering Research Center of Water Engineering Safety and Resources Efficient Utilization, Nanchang Institute of Technology, Nanchang, China. These are some of the reasons that Miracle Grow is not very well suited for use in our tanks.Wei Li 1*, Yujie Li 1, Jiayou Zhong 2, Hui Fu 2, Jie Tu 1 and Houbao Fan 1 Add on top of this, vulnerable plants (no wax cuticle) and you have several factors that can severely damage plants. Furthermore, in our low pH tanks nitrification does not easily happen, so once all the ammonia has been released and is floating around in the water column it is not removed and detoxified by bacteria like it is in the garden. There is no clay component in it to stabilize the ammonia and keep it from leaching into the water column, so high rates of ammonia release are common. Miracle grow soil is pure organic material. Lower concentrations are probably also not very good for plants, though we probably don't see the symptoms of toxicity at low concentrations because they take longer to appear and are more subtle than at higher concentrations. ![]() Basically, between 1 and 2 ppm ammonia is enough to start damaging certain species of aquatic plants within a few days of exposure (similar to fish toxicity ranges). This makes aquatic plants much more sensitive to toxins than terrestrial plants, and at the same time presumably more adept at taking up lower concentrations of nutrients (which are normal for aquatic environments). They lack a wax cuticle which acts as a barrier to substances trying to get into the plant. When this happens ammonia is not removed from the plant's environment in the normal way, it builds up to levels that are much higher than the plant can handle.įurthermore, aquatic plants, unlike the terrestrial plants that the book was talking about, absorb nutrients from all surfaces, roots, stem, and leaves and do not have the same physical barriers that terrestrial (or emersed grown plants) have. In our CO2 injected high tech tanks we often reach pH 6 or sometimes lower which inhibits a lot of the ammonia detoxification processes as the book quote above mentioned. The mechanism for exactly why ammonia/ium damages plants is not known at this point in time, but damage seems to be due to a plant's inability to prevent too much ammonium from coming into the plant. Most plants cannot handle ammonia/ammonium very well.
